PRIDE Queerics

In honour of PRIDE week, I've put together a few of my fave classic queerics. Can you name the song and band? (No googling cheaters! And pls., only one answer per comment.):

1. "This is not a locker room. And that's a surfboard not a yacht."
2. "Eat meat on friday that's alright. Even like steak on a Saturday night. I can bitch the best at your social dos. I get high in the evening sniffing pots of glue."
3. "Pushed around and kicked around. Always a lonely boy. You were the one that they'd talk about around town. As they put you down."
4. "Beauty's where you find it, not just where you bump and grind it".
5."Dear Mummy, Dear Daddy: Now I'm nineteen as you see. I'm handsome, tall, and strong. So what the hell gives you the right to look at me, as if to say "Hell, what went wrong?"
6. If you like adventure, don't you wait to enter, the recruiting office fast. Don't you hesitate. There is no need to wait. They're signing up new seamen fast!"
7. "What's the principal doing with her? Who's the guy? Is he screwing with her? What's her perfume? Tigress by Faberge. It make me cream my jeans when she come my way."
8. "If I, I get to know your name, well I, could trace your private number, baby."
9. "We want lovin', we want laughter again. We want heartbeat, we want madness to end. We want dancin', we wanna run in the streets. We want freedom, to live in this peace."
10. "Sometimes the clothes, do not make the man."

Bone-us question: "Bound to deliver as you give and I collect. Squealing impassioned as the rod of steel injects. Lunge to the maximum, spread-eagled to the wall. You're well equipped to take it all !!!"

Happy PRIDE kiddies, K

Recipe: Greasy K-Dough Sandwich

Ok, Ok. Jesus -- stop the whining. I'll throw y'all a bona (giggle). If you ever needed a reason to watch Question Period here are two. And when I say "two" I don't just mean Helena. This picture conjures a deep-seated disturbing sexual conflict I've experienced for years concerning Sunday School teachers, problems with / attraction to authority and Jack Daniels-inspired daisy chains.

Let the good times roll this coming weekend childerns of the corn-dogs!

Harding Young

If you have time this a.m. please check out my good friend, World Cup blogger Harding Young, who will appear on Andy Barrie's CBC Metro Morning (99.1 FM in southern Ontario). Harding, a fellow Toronto blogger has really been making a name for himself of late in the world of crime blogging on his sites T.O. Crime and T.O. Homicide. But he has also started a fascinating World Cup blog, which sees him visiting Toronto's culturally diverse neighbourhoods during games and reporting on what he sees, hears, tastes and smells! Last week, he appeared on Sun TV talking about the blog as well. Check him out!

Update: Harding will also be appearing tonight at 6:15 on CBC TV Toronto live. Tune in and support blogger success!

Shameless Flogging

I have no shame or scruples. In fact, I don't even know what scruples are. All I know is that you need to check out this site and help my friends choose their first radio single, which will be released very, very soon. My friends' names are Mike Turner (ex-OLP) and Pete Lesperance (Harem Scarem). Their band is called Fair Ground. You will be hearing a lot about them very soon.

What this whole project amounts to is a democratization of the music industry decision-making process. In my books, that is cool shit. Who needs stuffed shirts to tell you what you should be listening to?

Check out the tunes. If you don't like them, don't vote. Simple as that. The response to date has been phenomenal. Already, thousands have surfed on in to check out the blog and tunes. Media have talked about it. Be all that you can be.

So, get up out of that saggy chair and...no wait- stay on that chair because it's really hard to click when you stand up. Call your Mom and say "hey, come on over Mom. Let's have a shot of Jagermeister and vote for a Fair Ground tune. We don't spend enough quality time together." Take your wireless lap top out into your empty in-ground pool. Smoke a joint. Take off your pants. Put on oven mitts and work boots, paint your face orange and vote. Often. Vote like your life depends on it. Vote like you really have to pee. What-the-fuck-ever.

Please? I love you. No really. I do.

Other Project News

In cool other project news, a PR industry pod cast called Inside PR did a very kind piece on the Fair Ground blog and single voting site this week. You can check out the pod cast by clicking HERE. I'm one proud papa!

Hope y'all are doing well. The hiatus will be over soon and before you know it we'll be frothing at the mouth about politics, shaved body parts and fiddlin' idiots once again!

Mike Harris Is An Idiot

Just my opinion though. I have absolutely no scientifically sound way to substantiate that qualitative claim.

Sorry, I know I said I was on hiatus, but I couldn't let this one go. Mike Harris has sent a letter threatening legal action against Dalton McGuinty because, the other day, he said the Tories hadn't learned their lesson on Ipperwash. I wonder if he sent a similar letter to his own former Attorney General Charles Harnick, who, at the Ipperwash inquiry, testified that Harris used less than polite language in reference to aboriginals. My guess? No.

Due to time constraints I'm just going to go ahead and re-post an older K-Dough post: Check this out. Enjoy.

Blogging Rock Stars

I am currently helping a couple of Canadian rock star friends- former Our Lady Peace guitarist Mike Turner and Rubber/Harem Scarem guitarist Pete Lesperance- set up a blog about the process leading up to their new band Fair Ground's first radio single at the end of June. The daily confessions will allow us plebes to experience life through the eyes of two busy rock star/producers. Not only have they forsaken any multi-national record company's help, they are doing absolutely everything themselves, from writing, recording and producing in their own studios, to releasing the record.

The coolest thing is the way they plan to chose the first radio single. You- the people- will be allowed to vote which of 4 songs will become the single. In essence, they are putting big music industry decisions in the hands of everyday people. It's so fucking cool.

But I need your help.
This whole thing is about word of mouth, and you all have mouths so... Also, if you would be willing to put up a banner on your site I would be forever indebted- and you know what that means: Sexual favours from famed in-the-bedroom erotic tornado K-Dough- in the flesh, fully greased and coming on a waterbed near you!!!!

E-mail me if you can possibly help get the word out or would be willing to bannerize yourself!
The blog goes live Monday, June 5. But K-Dough readers can take an exclusive peak at the under construction shell here. There is a link on the blog page leading to Fair Ground's myspace profile where you can also check out some of the songs. Oh yeah, and I'd love it if you would set up a feed or register for e-mail updates as well!!!

If you are a blogger, and would like to do a short interview with the guys it can be aranged as well. It would not only help to boost your hits but it would help spread the word.

Now go forth and tell anyone you know about this my pretties. Pretty please?
Love and French-kisses, K-Dough
