While I realize that most of you could not give a flying rat's ass fuck about this, I am posting it because I can, for posterity's sake. Didn't the Ace of Spades come out in '79?

Ah the dulcet tones of Lemmy...

I dunno- bought it in 80. I really dig most Motorhead, so Iron Fist or No Sleep Till Hammersmith would be my next two.

Speed don't kill and I'm the proof.

Wow man, it really was a musical waste-land back in those days. It never bothered me at the time because I was too stoned, but I haven't kept any of those albums!

BCL... you trying to hurt KD's feelings or what. He's still stoned.

Ah... I can see KD now, sitting in his car during high school, tunes rocking the windows out, while blowing a fatty off before the next class.

Oh wait... that was me too.

Diary was too mainstream for that list. But a classic nonetheless. I love(d) Randy so that's really just another level of greatness...

Why am I not amazed that I don't know anything on this list? Oh yeah, I forgot I came around in the late 80s.

Though I can picture almost every one of those album covers, I didn't own any of those. Early 80's...I was already bitten by the Steve Hackett bug (my fave composer of all time...still), big into prog-rock, and starting to get into all the new MIDI stuff and sparkly R&B production.
Let's see....Scritti Politti and The System were big on my stereo. I LOVED that band Go West..I dug clever pop writing and super slick production. I recently found an old System CD on Amazon, and it still has bottom-end to die for.I really liked Def Leppard's Pyromania too. Don't know how much I would like that one now, though. (His voice always slightly irritated me...the endless layering and massive EQing saved him...he just wasn't in the same league as, say, Halford, etc...guys who could really belt it out.)
How about fave records of all time? That would be interesting reading.
OH Yeah....Teras For Fears Songs from the Big Chair....pretty dated now, but absolutely cutting-edge at the time.

Leather- For me, prog wise, the two big Yes records with Trevor Rabin are masterpieces. Apart from that, all Marillion is brilliant, of course.

I was a huge muso modern jazz loving freal too at the time. Weather Report, Chick Corea, Dimeola, DeLucia, Stanley Clarke, Jeff Berlin, Eric Johnson etc...
