Canada Upholds Gay Rights

175 MPs stood up and supported gay and human rights in Canada today. Huge kudos are in order for John Baird, Peter Mackay, Jim Prentice and David Emerson. You should be proud of yourselves today for voting against Stephen Harper's cynical attempt to tear people apart in Canada and trod on the established charter rights of our sisters and brothers.

The following MPs should be ashamed of letting their religious beliefs, intolerance, political aims or mean-spiritedness obscure their respect for the human rights of Canadians:

Liberals unworthy of the title: Jim Karygiannis, Derek Lee, Mr. Byrne. Mr. Wappel. Monsieur Bonier. Mr. Mcteague. Mr. Cullen. Mr. Mackay. Mr. Malley. Mr. Steckle. Mr. Tonks. Mr. Khan. Mr. Scarpaleggia.

Conservatives: Mr. O'Connor. Mr. Toews. Mr. Day. Mr. Flaherty. Mr. Clement. Mr. Strahl. Mr. Solberg. Mr. Hearn. Mrs. Hinton. Mr. Bernourge, Mr. Blackburn. Mr. Camp. Mr. Benoit. Mr. Breitkreuz. Mr. Hanger. Mr. Harris, Mr. Mills, Mr. Thompson, Mr. Williams. Mr. Anders, Mr. Casson. Mr. Mackenzie. Mr. Hebert. Mr. Kenney. Mr. Reid. Mr. Lauzon. Mrs. Yellich. Mr. Warawa. Mr. Doyle. Mr. Ritz. Mr. Fitzpatrick. Mr. Goldring. Mr. Albrecht. Mr. Allan. Mr. Lunny. Mr. Mark. Mr. Merrifield. Mr. Ragotte. Mr. Sorenson. Mr. Vellacott. Mr. Schellenberger. Mr. Alison. Mr. Batters. Mr. Bazan. Mr. Jaffer. Mr. Brown. Mr. Hawn. Mr. Lake. Monsieur Lemieux. Mr. Pallister. Mr. Epp. Mr. Mayes. Monsieur Pettite. Mr. Sweet. Mr. Van Kesteran. Mr. Wallace. etc...

Wappel's a right wing nut. Pro-life, anti-women, wants to bring us back to the dark ages. How this guy calls himself a Liberal is beyond me.

This is my non-partisan, non-biased opinion only, shared directly with a colleague and not meant to be taken as an official position.

Speaking of positions I bet we can all guess which one Mrs. Wappel is damn sick of after all these years.

No wonder I'm concerned, facts escape even the brightest of minds.

K-Dough, I'm surprised and my sister the Dyke's not impressed either, and she agrees about the danger.

Instead of attacking me, why not tell me there's no danger to anal intercourse?

Find an accredited Doctor to agree with you.

Impossible.

Hold on a sec guys. Maybe we aren't being fair enough to MAW here.

Actually, there is a great angle to his twisted views: In his world, he can blow me and we don't even have to be married!!!

Careful what you wish for, K.

And as far as I know, you can be gay and not have anal sex, and have anal sex and not be gay... And what the fuck does that have to do with parenting? And why am I wasting my time replying to his homophobic rant?
I'm going to have a glass of wine and celebrate.

Baird voted to uphold our/their/his/her rights. Anders against. Kenney against. Moore for.

Has Anders been deflowered yet? Sometimes I get busy and can't keep up with the news.

Or was it one of those other guys that were 'saving it'. They all kind of look alike to me.

Anders is probably too busy trying to find some legal loophole by which he can have Nelson Mandela stripped of his honourary Canadian citizenship. After all, didn't he say once that Mandela was a terrorist?

He's about as ignorant as MAW, in my opinion. Oh, and MAW, being gay is not a "lifestyle choice." Buying a loft in the Merchandise Building is a lifestyle choice. Attending Mass every Sunday is a lifestyle choice. In fact, being pig ignorant of historical and biological reality is a life-style choice.

Go bore someone else with your bullshit. No one here is interested.

anal sex is a gay sex practice? jeez, date a bulgarian chick and you'll change your mind on that one.

also, if its specifically anal sex that's the menace to society, does that mean lesbians engage in safe sexual practices?

Okay folks, a little confession here. I've got a thing for Jason Kenney.

Wow, now that that's off my chest, I feel so much better.

Re Sheena's last post: Anyone else foresee the day when we'll have a "Cape Bretoners are a nation within Canada" motion voted on in the House of Commons?

Sheena, you rock my boat. You and Pam both. Boy, sometimes it's not easy being gay. :)
