Get Well Saku!!!

Saku Koivu sustained what seems to be a serious injury to his eye from an errant stick in Wednesday night's game versus Carolina. Koivu bounced back into the NHL a couple of years ago after surviving cancer, and now this? What cruel misfortune. Recent media reports say he still can't see out of the injured eye and that he may be finished - not only for this playoff run but for his entire career. Boo! Hiss! Boo!

For the love of God, hockey, les Habs and all that is sacred: Please get better Saku. We love you, you big, talented, smiling Finnish ice hockey bastard.

On another note, this reporter of the profane is off to the fabulous Blue Mountain resort and shi-shi playground for the stupidly rich. Thus, I'm leaving this gaping thread open for easy and repeated insertion. Play safe and fair or you will be thoroughly disciplined by my sexy hench woman Pam! See y'all Monday kiddies...

Vive le bleu, blanc et rouge!

Even while the sun rises and sets on the TML, I'll offer condolences and tap my stick on the ice for the health of Koivu. Nobody wants that to happen to anyone and we concede that he's an incredible hockey player. So much so, that with only one eye, he'll play better than Lindros, Belfour, and Aki Berg combined.

Get better Koivu.

K-Dough, enjoy Blue Mountain. I've got this blog under my watchful eye.

Have a great weekend, K! I've read that the eye is still really swollen, so they haven't even been able to dilate and examine it.Don't write him off yet! They won't know anything until then.

Hopefully Koivu recovers, and quickly. The Habs have an exciting team, and I was hoping for a Sens-Habs second round match up!

We had a scarey incident of our own a couple nights ago - Mike Fisher took a puck just below the eye. He looks like a mess and has to wear a full cage, but thankfully is still able to play.

No more eye injuries this playoffs (for any team)! We've already had two too many.

I hope he gets better too. It was sickenign to see, and the fact that ou of 4 officials, not one raised their arm (even if the stick was accidental the rules aplly) really pissed me off. Especially later when Komisarek took a 4 minute for Stillman's tongue bite LOL...

I hope we can prevail without him, but it will be difficult.

Get well soon Saku!!!

Ottawa will win tomorrow and I will be there to watch.

Ottawa will beat Montreal out in 4.

That's your NHL news for today, folks.

This is fast becoming my favourite blog. Although since it's unseemly for man of my age (41) to engage in all the ribaldry directly, I think I'll just be the voyeur.

Wait...forget that...that's creepy. Go Sens!

I'm pleased that the Sens can proceed so far this year... without the traditional thumping and first-round exodus at the hands of the mighty TML.

I'm certainly not a closet Habs fan but until my faithful Leafs can re-arrange their antiquated players, I'll support any Canadian team.

ti-guy,
If ribaldry is undignified at 41, it must be positively vile at 46. My stomach hurts.

How could you forget the hockey playoffs? I can understand forgetting your keys, or forgetting your kids in the car, or forgetting you are married...but hockey? Where are your priorities?

pam,

my priorities are: choice in childcare, GST cut, wait times in health, uh, uh, accountability and, uhg, defence?

Maybe you should have SIX or more priorites, CC. Who knows? It could catch on.

Ken Dryden has 5 priorities too.

And Marc Garneau wrote a column in french outlining the 5 priorities the Liberals should have to win back Quebec.

5 is the magic number these days.

There is no other..where is he? Come out, come out, wherever you are....
I think he's worried that he's going to have to post a picture of his ass over the whole hockey thing...s'okay, K. I've seen a few in my day.....

"Will somebody, at least, post a "K-Dough-like" comment?"

Okay, jdog, I'll try my best. Here goes:

"You asshole, if you beat me at darts one more time I'm gonna punch you in the cock."

Or how about:

"What do you mean you've got nice calves? Those calves are like a pair of my grandma's knitting needles." [K-dough's actually really jealous of my gorgeous calves, since his are, shall we say, not quite yet achieving their limited potential.]

And the ever popular:

"Oh yeah, well BLOW ME!" [Indicates that K-dough's getting kind of pissed off, such as he will when he reads this post.]

Just kidding K-dough.
I hope you're having a great time at your tres chic resort. Hurry back soon and feed the hungry minds of your followers/fans with some of your trademark wit/invective.

PS: Please don't punch me in the groin when you get back.

homo,

That was hilarious and quite k-dough-esque. Does he really have scrawny calves? Oh, dear. That's not at all how I pictured him. Those cock-punchers are not always as they sound, are they?

Pam- I have mangifient claves. Its a genetic thing and aresult of many years of karate, walking, biking etc. They are hard and sculpted. I would put them up against any heavy lifter or soccer player any day.

Whenever homo gets drunk he likes to challenge me to a calve-off and we drunkenly parade our fully flexed calves around whatever establishment we happen to be in. It's just stupid.

I'd like to change the terms of my bet. If the Sens win the cup, I will post a pic of my flexed calves and YOU can be the judge.

K-dough,

Sure, that's fine. You can post a picture of your flexed ANYTHING and I'll be happy.
I was at the Sens game Saturday and I still haven't recovered.
